Consider This Critical Appeal for the Love of Movies and Traverse City
Celebrate a Decade of Dreams by honoring the astonishing things we have done together since the State reopened 10 years ago.
With your donations, memberships, and championship we:
>> Brought 1,648,905 admissions to Downtown Traverse City
>> Showed 2,804 different films
>> Partnered with 910 different community organizations
>> Hosted 42,622 students at educational screenings
>> Popped enough popcorn to fill an Olympic sized pool
>> Served 543,054 drinks and sold 611,520 peanut M&Ms
Your fully tax-deductible contribution is essential to our success.
Movies let us walk in other people’s shoes and take us anywhere we are brave enough to go, collectively, together with our family, friends, and neighbors. We need to maintain our historic (read: expensive) theaters, and finish raising $250,000 for the new boiler we must have. We want to invest in and expand our technology, staff, education programs, and archives. Please help us ensure that the State and Bijou will be here for generations to come – and make it to 2019.
Thousands of Hearts Moved and Minds Opened.
As the curtain falls on 2017, we recommit ourselves to presenting movies the way they were meant to be seen, in historic movie palaces, in comfortable seats, at affordable prices, with the best possible picture, sound, and popcorn. We reaffirm our mission to provide our great city with a public square where everyone can afford to go and everyone is welcome.
Donations are 100% tax deductible. The State Theatre and Bijou by the Bay are run by the Traverse City Film Festival, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Thank you!
